Ben Henri is in his 10th year of teaching and his 8th year as Vocal Music Director for the Grosse Pointe North Choirs. North ensembles and soloists under Mr. Henri’s tutelage have consistently received top ratings at District and State Festivals. Most recently, Pointe Chorale earned the distinction of being a Michigan Youth Arts finalist for the 2012-2013 school year. Students from the North choirs regularly pursue post-secondary studies in music, including voice performance, music education, music therapy, music theory, and music composition.
Mr. Henri earned his degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan in 2006, and he completed his Master’s degree in Choral Conducting at Michigan State University in 2012. Before coming to North, Mr. Henri taught music in Haslett, Michigan. While there, he taught elementary general music as well as middle, and high school choir. Like the choirs at North, the Haslett choirs he directed received top ratings at District and State Choral Festivals.
